*Also, we have begun a reading program where students can keep track of their at-home reading for each month! A calendar was sent home at the beginning of October. Our goal is 15 minutes of reading a day, or 465 total minutes for the month of October. All calendars are due Monday, November 2nd, since a new calendar for November will be sent home this week Friday. If your child needs a new calendar, please have him/her see me! Read, read, read!

We continue to work on writing descriptively.
Science:
In science class, we have begun a unit on animals and their habitats. Enclosed is information about a habitat project that will be due November 9th. Students have chosen their animals, and have been given information about how to do the project, but they may need some parental assistance with researching their animal and its habitat. If your child has any questions about the project, please have him/her ask me! Thanks!
Social Studies:
A study guide for unit 4 was sent home last week. The test will be Wednesday, October 28th. We have gone over this material in class, and we will review together. Students will need to study at home as well. Students will begin bringing their books home each afternoon to practice good study habits.
On a final note…
