*New sight words will go home Tuesday, Nov. 3, and will need to be returned Friday, Nov. 6.
*Also, we have begun a reading program where students can keep track of their at-home reading for each month! A calendar was sent home at the beginning of October. Our goal is 15 minutes of reading a day, or 465 total minutes for the month of October. All October calendars are due Monday, November 2nd. A new calendar for November is enclosed.
Miss Rempfer and I were able to acquire some pizza certificates. Therefore; students who do complete their reading goal for October will get a certificate for a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut! The goal for November will be similar—15 minutes of reading per day, OR 450 total minutes for November. November calendars will be due Dec. 1.
English/Language Arts:
We continue to work on writing descriptively. We will begin studying verbs.
Science:
In science class, we continue our unit on animals and their habitats. Last week, information about a habitat project that will be due November 9th was sent home. Students have chosen their animals, and have been given information about how to do the project, but they may need some parental assistance with researching their animal and its habitat. If your child has any questions about the project, please have him/her ask me! Thanks!

We will begin learning about our continents and oceans, as well as how to read and use maps!
On a final note…

*Just a reminder that you can access our class blog by going to www.zionmrsbrewer.blogspot.com OR by going to the school website (www.brightonzionlutheran.org), clicking on School, Class Pages, and Mrs. Brewer’s name.
*If your child has a fever, please keep him/her at home.
