*Also, the Book It program continues this month. New March calendars were given out 3 weeks ago. Our goal for this month is 15 minutes a day, or 465 total minutes. March calendars will be due Tuesday, April 6, when we return from Spring/Easter Break. Please have your child let me know if he/she needs a new calendar. (March is the last month for the Book It program.)

English/Language Arts:
We continue to work on pronouns and expository writing. We will be wrapping up this unit before spring break.

Science:
We have begun our new unit on matter: solids, liquids, gases, and their different properties.

Social Studies:
We continue unit 5 entitled “A World of Many People.” Students will be learning about different cultures around the world. I will also be teaching them a little about the Hawaiian culture. Look for a study guide in April when we return from spring/Easter break.

On a final note…
*Please continue to check your child’s HOME folder and assignment book each evening.
*Just a reminder that you can access our class blog by going to www.zionmrsbrewer.blogspot.com OR by going to the school website (www.brightonzionlutheran.org), clicking on School, Class Pages, and Mrs. Brewer’s name.
*Beginning in the second half of our school year, each student will have a chance to be our Student of the Week. When it is your child’s turn, he/she will bring home a form to fill out. Please help your child fill out the form by Wednesday of his/her week. On that day, he/she will share his/her answers with us and also have the opportunity to share one special item. More information will be sent when it is your child’s week.

God’s blessings on your week!
In Christ,
Mrs. Brewer
